Dear Member
We are pleased to announce the restart of qualifying competitions at The Hertfordshire starting on the 4th of July.
The schedule for July will be as follows
Saturday 4th July – Mixed Stableford Competition, open to all 7 days members*
Tuesday 7th July – Men’s midweek Stableford, open to all members*

Saturday 18th July – Royal Gala Cup (Major, Medal), open to all 7 days members*

The first two competitions will require members to book a tee time and arrange playing partners. Block bookings are not yet available, this will be reviewed by the club in the coming weeks, if this changes we will update you in due course.
Members must enter online or via the IG app for all competitions and enter a digital scorecard once the round has finished, this can be done online or via the IG app. The computer will be available in the pro-shop for those unable to do so. Please try and limit this to avoid multiple touch points, cleaning products will be next to the screen, it is your responsibility to wipe the screen after using.
For cross referencing scores, a written scorecard must be completed by one member of the group for all players. One card should contain the markers score and up to 3 additional players and should be signed by the marker.
All stableford competitions are £3 entry and Majors £5, payment is still required even though you may not be eligible to win. Competitions fees are there to fund the joint committee, charities and of course payments for the prizes.
Payment will be accepted in the pro-shop on the day, please try and bring the correct amount. The pro-shop will sign you into the book once payment had been made. Non-payment will be instant disqualification.
As in all competitions, no ‘gimmies’ are permitted, you must finish the hole. Pick and Place is expected to be removed by the proposed start date. An update on this in full will be issued by the Head Green Keeper.
*In-line with the club’s policy, Members are entitled to enter competitions but cannot win unless their handicaps are ‘competition active’. To achieve this, members must have played in at least 3 qualifying competitions within a 12-month period.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the competitions (Alan Stone) or handicap (Rich Magill) committee members.
In-line with current government and club guidelines, please adhere to all measures in place regarding social distancing, arriving at the club, forming large groups etc. If the current situation changes, competitions maybe temporary suspended.
Play well!
The Committee
