COURSE MANAGER (Full Time)

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our team of Greenkeepers at The Hertfordshire Golf & Country Club.

Set in the grounds of our Grade II listed mansion building, this truly is a glorious place to work.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and driven to produce top quality surfaces all year round with an up-to-date knowledge of modern greenkeeping techniques. This role is highly visible and hands on and you must possess the ability to engage with members and work closely with all the departments within the club to produce a high standard of member experience.

Weekend working as part of the greenkeeping team rota is expected of anyone taking this role.

Knowledge of tee & bunker building plus experience with ‘growing in’ would be an advantage but not essential.

The below list is not exhaustive and other tasks may be added to the role.

· Lead the greenkeeping team in the day to day set up of golf course and inform members of any changes to course playability.

· Plan, cost, and deliver various projects across the course.

· Up to date knowledge of all relevant health & safety legislation and procedures.

· Manage fleet of greenkeeping equipment to a high standard and list replacement requirements as needed.

· Maintain Rainbird irrigation system.

· Assist with grow in of new range and 9-hole academy.

· Attend weekly meetings with other HOD’s.

· Keep your team’s training up to date and identify and fulfil training needs of individual team members.

· Work within a budget plus keep up to date records associated with the department.

Skills required.

· At least 5 years as a course manager/supervisor.

· NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in the sports turf industry.

· PA1,2 & 6.

· Relevant chainsaw certification.

· Desire to continue to improve own knowledge and skill base.

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR & PERSONAL TRAINER

We are looking for a energetic, outgoing person to join our fitness team.
The Hertfordshire Golf and Country Club have a vacancy for a Fitness Instructor position.
The experience our members have is our top priority, Fitness Instructors play an integral part in the experience our members have and therefore will need a very high level of customer service skills.
The role includes:

-Building relationships with our members and ensuring they have a flawless experience on every visit.
-Ensure all Fitness areas and equipment are up to the highest of standards, both cleanliness and functionality, at all times.
-Supervising the gym floor, enforcing rules and ensuring all equipment is being used in line with safe working practice and company policies.
-Assisting with the implementation of marketing and incentive strategies.
-Create fitness regimes and programs for members ensuring they meet the members’ needs requirements and will successfully reach the members goals.
-Regular pool and chemical checks.
-Ensuring all relevant documentation relating to members health and safety is current and up to date in line with current legislation.
-Perform administration duties as required.
-Maintain own required qualifications, licenses and training requirements in line with industry standards.
